------------------ Answer to a Question ------------------

There seems to be some question about who is or is not qualified to be a peace officer.

You can click here to read the Texas Occupations Code.

If you have any questions about my qualifications, please read the EXPERIENCE page of this web site.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Wood County is important to me.

I have made this my home since retiring as a Federal Law Enforcement Agent in 1993 and I want the best for our county.

I feel the people of Wood County deserve more from the Sheriff’s Department. The drug problem in our County needs serious and effective attention, our investigation methods need improvement, and the professionals within our Sheriff’s Department deserve better training.

Perhaps most importantly, the people of Wood County should be able to go to bed at night feeling safe – knowing that capable employees at the Sheriff’s Department have ensured for them a safe and wholesome environment in which to live and raise their children and grandchildren.

This is as important to me as it is to you.

With over 40 years of law enforcement and investigative experience, including top managerial and supervisory positions with the U.S. Border Patrol and Immigration and Naturalization Service, I will bring perspective and dedication to the office of Sheriff.

I respectfully request your vote in the Republican Primary in May 29, 2012.
